The Farm Liebenwerda was established in 1901 and was probably named in memory of the founder of the farms hometown - namely "Bad Liebenwerda".
The farm is about 8000 ha large and lies north of the C 39 road between Outjo and Khorixas, 40 km from Outjo. The travelling time from Farm Liebenwerda to Etosha is about one hour.
In 1997 Brigitte and Rainer Hillig bought the farm and moved into the area in 1999 with dog and cat. Originally it was planned to open a lodge, but very quickly a different concept was decided upon and implemented - a game farm with no fences.
